Dispensing
Accuracy Assessment
This scheme has been designed
in line with the new standards set for the National Checking Scheme. One
of the requirements is that pharmacy technician checkers must prove that they are accurate dispensers.
Feedback from those involved
in the South West Technician Checking Scheme and Dispensary Managers has
suggested that a formalised process to assess dispensing accuracy of all
staff would be useful.
This assessment will be
recognised by all trusts in the South West region.
A similar tool has been
designed in the London region and has been found useful in particular by
preregistration trainee pharmacists and pharmacy technicians embarking on the
regional checking scheme.
