Medicines Information
The
Medicines Information Service provides information and advice to healthcare
professionals in primary and secondary care, on all aspects of the
therapeutic use of medicines.
Information is provided both in direct response to requests for
assistance, and also in the form of bulletins and publications.
Support and back up is given to local Medicines Information Centres and
Primary Care in the following counties:
Bristol, Gloucestershire,
Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
The South West Medicine Information Service also
provides the National Specialist Advisory Service on Drugs in Renal
Failure and contributes to other national projects, such as the National
New Product Evaluation Scheme, Pharmline and national training courses in

The training department offers courses and
training for all hospital pharmacy staff in the South West region.
Training schemes for pharmacists, preregistration trainee pharmacists,
pharmacy technicians, preregistration trainee pharmacy technicians
and pharmacy assistants are all co-ordinated by this department.
